Baseball Game Preview: Lago Vista Vikings vs. Fredericksburg Billies

The Lago Vista Vikings will take on the Fredericksburg Billies in a tournament on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lago Vista saw some tournament action last Thursday. Everything went their way against Waco as Lago Vista made off with a 15-1 win. The Vikings have beaten the Lions the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, everything went Fredericksburg's way against University on Thursday as Fredericksburg made off with an 8-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Billies.

The team relied heavily on Creek Frantzen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Holt Herber was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Frantzen wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Fredericksburg lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Lago Vista's record now sits at 2-0. As for Fredericksburg, their record now sits at 9-2.
