Basketball Recap: Sequoyah Comes Up Short

Sequoyah's game on Friday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Tellico Plains Bears by a score of 56-53. The loss continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost three in a row.

Delilah Reed produced another solid performance putting up 19 points for Tellico Plains. With that strong performance, Reed is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jonna Moses, who posted 12 points.

Sequoyah's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Tellico Plains, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Sequoyah will host Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tellico Plains, they are taking a road trip to square off against Polk County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
