Volleyball Game Preview: Marshall Phoenix vs. Burton Pumas

Marshall is 0-8 against Burton since October of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Phoenix will head out on the road to face off against the Pumas at 5:30 p.m.

Marshall came up short against Mission on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Marshall was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Mission's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Burton made easy work of Wallenberg on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pumas.

While Burton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-6, 28-26.

Burton's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Marshall couldn't quite get it done against Burton when the teams last played back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Phoenix avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
