Baseball Recap: Shawnee Mission Northwest Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission Northwest fell victim to Lawrence Free State and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Firebirds by a score of 1-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Firebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Shawnee Mission Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Lawrence Free State, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Coincidentally, Shawnee Mission Northwest and Lawrence Free State will both be playing Shawnee Mission South the next time they take the field. The Firebirds will host the Raiders on Saturday, while the Cougars will head out to face them on May 8.
