Baseball Recap: Millard South Falls Short Against Ranked Creighton Prep

Millard South faced Creighton Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots fell just short of the Junior Jays by a score of 3-1. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Junior Jays earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Noah Carroll was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Millard South and nudges their season record down to 19-9. As for Creighton Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Millard South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-6 victory against Omaha Westside on the 3rd. As for Creighton Prep, they have also already played their next game, a 6-4 defeat against Millard North on the 3rd.
