Baseball Game Preview: Rutherford Rams vs. Walton Braves

Rutherford hasn't had much luck against Walton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rams will welcome the Braves at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Rutherford came up short against Freeport on Friday, falling 10-3.

Rutherford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Javier Gierbolini, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Walton didn't have quite enough to beat Freeport on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Walton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-1. As for Rutherford, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Rutherford's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Walton, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Rutherford continue to outrun the ball?
