Soccer Game Preview: Hinsdale South vs. Marist

The Hinsdale South Hornets will square off against the Marist RedHawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hinsdale South is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Hinsdale South's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Willowbrook with a sharp 5-0 victory. Considering Hinsdale South have won seven games by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brynn Diedrich and Audrey Atkinson scored all five of Hinsdale South's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 49 goals.

Meanwhile, Marist was able to grind out a solid win over Plainfield East on Sunday, taking the game 2-0.

Marist's victory bumped their record up to 8-6-2. As for Hinsdale South, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Hinsdale South took their victory against Marist when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 5-2 score. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the RedHawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
