Baseball Game Preview: Crescent Tigers vs. Pickens Blue Flame

The Crescent Tigers will face off against the Pickens Blue Flame at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pickens took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Crescent, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Crescent turned things around against Greenwood Christian on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since April 30, 2024.

Meanwhile, Pickens came up short against Walhalla on Friday and fell 7-3. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Flame in their meetings with the Razorbacks: they've now lost nine in a row.

Pickens saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Ferguson, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Brayden Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Crescent's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Pickens, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Crescent came out on top in a nail-biter against Pickens in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, sneaking past 2-0. Does Crescent have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pickens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
