A win for South Broward just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were beaten by the Piper Bengals 49-14. Despite 84 more yards than the Bengals, the Bulldogs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Steven Wright, who threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 73 yards on only seven carries. Julien Halley was his usual excellent self, rushing for 89 yards and three touchdowns for Piper.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After each having a week off, South Broward and Southridge will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 15th. Southridge's defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so South Broward's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Piper, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Doral Academy at 7:30 p.m. on November 15th. Piper is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 32 points per game this season.
