Baseball Game Preview: River Dell Golden Hawks vs. Indian Hills Braves

For the second straight game, River Dell will face off against Indian Hills. The Golden Hawks will welcome the Braves at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. River Dell is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Monday just wasn't the day for River Dell's offense. They came up short against Indian Hills on Monday, falling 12-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Golden Hawks were not able to get on the board.

For Indian Hills' part, LJ Renshaw was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Renshaw was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Indian Hills let Charlie Brugna and Matt O'Shaunossy run wild. Brugna went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while O'Shaunossy went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Brugna has posted over his last eight games. Ryan Hurley was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Indian Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Dell only posted an OBP of .350.

Indian Hills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for River Dell, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Both River Dell and Indian Hills just can't seem to miss. The Golden Hawks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Indian Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits.
