Softball Game Preview: Fruitland Grizzlies vs. Cole Valley Christian Chargers

The Fruitland Grizzlies are taking a road trip to face off against the Cole Valley Christian Chargers on Monday. Fruitland has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fruitland lost 12-6 to Homedale on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Cole Valley Christian faced Weiser in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Chargers fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 7-6. The Chargers' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Lola Crosby and Abbie English stepped up to the plate in a big way. Crosby went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while English went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. English has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played.

Fruitland's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Cole Valley Christian, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-4.

Fruitland suffered a grim 20-7 defeat to Cole Valley Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
