Softball Recap: Ruidoso Wins Going Away Against Hatch Valley

Ruidoso had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Hatch Valley on Thursday. The Ruidoso Warriors blew past the Hatch Valley Bears 20-3. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mea Trujillo was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Baylor Pritchett, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Ruidoso always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hatch Valley only posted an OBP of .238.

Ruidoso's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Hatch Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Ruidoso didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-4 victory against Mescalero Apache on the 14th. Hatch Valley has also already played their next game (against Ruidoso), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
