Basketball Recap: Girard Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Girard was the 52-47 winner over Meadville when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Girard Yellowjackets fell just short of the Meadville Bulldogs by a score of 60-58 on Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meadville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Burchard, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamarii Pope, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Girard's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Girard will square off against Warren at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Meadville, they will challenge General McLane at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
