Basketball Game Preview: Effingham County Rebels vs. Lakeside Panthers

The Effingham County Rebels are taking a road trip to take on the Lakeside Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Effingham County has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 22.

Last Saturday, Effingham County was beaten by Walton 71-28. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Raiders are ranked 109th).

Meanwhile, Lakeside took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 67-34 win over Fox Creek. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Effingham County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Things could have been worse for Effingham County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Lakeside in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Effingham County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
