Football Recap: Lake Norman Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The Lake Norman Wildcats didn't have quite enough to beat the Reagan Raiders on Friday and fell 24-21. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Lake Norman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaden Craft threw for 197 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Allen Jones handled things on the ground, rushing for 88 yards.

Reagan was led to victory by John Evans Jr. and Jacob Smith. Evans Jr. gained 224 total yards and a touchdown, while Smith rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns. Evans Jr.'s rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 148 rushing yards.

Lake Norman's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Reagan, their record now sits at 4-1.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Lake Norman and Statesville will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Reagan, they will host Northwest Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The contest will also give the Raiders their first taste of in-conference action this season.
