Preview: Sultana Sultans vs. Indian Springs COYOTES

The Sultana Sultans and the Indian Springs COYOTES will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

After soaring to 58 points the game before, Sultana were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They were outmatched by San Dimas on the road and fell 63-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sultana has scored all season.

Despite their loss, Sultana saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alec Rodriguez, who scored seven points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sultana struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Indian Springs' good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost to Yucaipa on the road by a decisive 60-42 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Indian Springs in their matchups with Yucaipa: they've now lost four in a row.

The losing side was boosted by A'dorian Cherry, who scored 23 points. He scored a full 54.8% of Indian Springs' points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jordan Culberson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Sultana and nudges their season record down to 3-9. As for Indian Springs, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-10 record last season and are now at 5-11.

Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Sultana have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Indian Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 27.8 rebounds per game. Given Sultana's sizeable advantage in that area, Indian Springs will need to find a way to close that gap. Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
