Dashawn Woods Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, Hammond Morton got the W thanks in part to Dashawn Woods playing the best football he has all season. Woods' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 111 rushing yards. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 85 yards.

The victory was the third in a row for Hammond Morton, bringing their record for this year to 3-4. Woods and Hammond Morton will face off against East Chicago Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Davion Terry Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Hammond Central was led to victory by Davion Terry, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Terry rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Hammond Central moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Terry and Hammond Central have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Hanover Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

The second Hammond Morton player making an appearance here is Holland Harris, and for good reason. He threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 35 yards.

Harris might have his next game, a road matchup with East Chicago Central, circled on his calendar. Harris threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns while completing 94.1% of his passes the last time he and the Cardinals duked it out back in October of 2023.
