Patterson came into Monday's contest looking for another win against East Union, but Isaac Serrato wouldn't allow it. East Union blew past Patterson 3-0 on Monday thanks in part to Serrato, who had four digs and four aces. What's more, he racked up 12 assists, the most he's had over his last seven games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-20.

East Union now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Patterson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

East Union and Patterson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. East Union will take on Manteca at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 250 places (468 vs. 218). Meanwhile, Patterson (ranked 569th) will meet Mountain House (ranked 107th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
