Softball Recap: Cholla Takes a Loss

Cholla's last matchup with Pusch Ridge Christian Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Chargers lost 18-2 to the Lions. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Chargers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cholla saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maiya Encinas, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Cholla's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Cholla and Pusch Ridge Christian Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Chargers (ranked 200th) will meet Sahuarita (ranked tenth) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will square off against Tanque Verde at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (134 vs. 38).
