Softball Recap: Long Beach Poly Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Long Beach Poly extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Santa Monica. They blew past the Vikings 9-3. Considering the Jackrabbits have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tegan Breaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Kween Tauala was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Holder, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Long Beach Poly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in eight consecutive contests.

Long Beach Poly is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Monica, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.

Coming up, Long Beach Poly will challenge Harvard-Westlake at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Jackrabbits surely won't give up without a fight. Santa Monica does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
