Volleyball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

If Sparta was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of La Crosse Logan last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans came up short against the Aquinas Blugolds on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blugolds from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sparta still got an impressive performance from Addison Kent, who had 14 digs and four assists. With that strong performance, Kent is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.

Adelaide Bezemek had a dynamite game For Aquinas., getting 18 digs and one block. What's more, Bezemek racked up 34 assists, the most she's had over her last three matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Coyne, who had 12 digs and two assists.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Aquinas, their record now sits at 6-10.

Coincidentally, Sparta and Aquinas will both be playing La Crosse Central the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Riverhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Blugolds will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
