Flatirons Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Heritage Christian just ended the team's ten-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Eagles. While the Bison didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-18 in the first set.
Flatirons Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Akron came up short against Merino on Friday, falling 3-0.
Akron took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-12, 25-17.
Flatirons Academy's loss dropped their record down to 21-2. As for Akron, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
