Softball Recap: Elwood Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Elwood lost to Tipton back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 12-7. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Kelsey Armes, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Emily Faucett was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Elwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Elwood's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Tipton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elwood will challenge Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tipton, they will square off against Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
