Basketball Recap: South Fork Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, South Fork rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 47-38 victory over the Okeechobee Brahmans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-36 back in December of 2024.

Okeechobee's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Jasper, who posted 13 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Chaynaya'Ah Phillips, who scored six points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for South Fork and bumps their season record up to 16-8. As for Okeechobee, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

Coming up, South Fork will face off against Belen Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Belen Jesuit will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something South Fork surely won't give up without a fight. Okeechobee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
