Preview: Amador Buffaloes vs. Calaveras Red Hawks

The Amador Buffaloes will head out on the road to challenge the Calaveras Red Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Amador is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Amador suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 84-40 loss at the hands of Sonora. While losing is never fun, Amador can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1116th, while Sonora is ranked 515th).

Meanwhile, Calaveras was able to grind out a solid victory over Summerville on Tuesday, taking the game 48-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Calaveras.

Calaveras found their leader in underclassman Ryan Clifton, who scored 16 points. Corbin Curran was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Amador has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Calaveras, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.

Amador barely slipped by Calaveras when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 41-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amador since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
