Baseball Recap: Blacksher Drops Season-High Score on Mckenzie

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blacksher). Everything went their way against the McKenzie Tigers on Thursday as the Blacksher Bulldogs made off with a 15-5 victory. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.

Brayden Bailey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Bailey was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter White, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Cole Matheny was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI.

Blacksher was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Blacksher and bumps their season record up to 3-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.5 hits in those games compared to only 5.4 in the others. As for McKenzie, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
