Volleyball Recap: Liberty Common Takes a Loss

Liberty Common was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Platte Valley Broncos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Liberty Common was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-22.

Addy Grossnickle had an outrageously good game for Platte Valley as she had 19 digs and three aces. Emery Martinez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Liberty Common's record is now 2-18. As for Platte Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Liberty Common will take on Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Platte Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Weld Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
