Football Game Preview: Wachusett Regional Mountaineers vs. Grafton Gators + Official Tickets

The Wachusett Regional Mountaineers will square off against the Grafton Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wachusett Regional will be strutting in after a victory while Grafton will be coming in after a defeat.

Wachusett Regional's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Westborough, posting a 31-0 win. The game marked the Mountaineers' most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Grafton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Algonquin Regional by a score of 6-3. The contest marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Wachusett Regional will have to contain Zeeland Youngblood as he made an impact in Grafton's last game. He rushed for 78 yards, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. Youngblood also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making one tackle and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Grafton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Caedan Burns, Youngblood, and Zach Barnhill picked up one apiece.

Wachusett Regional's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.4 points on average over those games. As for Grafton, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.
