Baseball Recap: Cory-Rawson Takes a Loss

Cory-Rawson lost against Hardin Northern back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fighting Hornets took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Polar Bears. The Fighting Hornets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Cory-Rawson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Moon, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Eric Sierra also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Cory-Rawson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hardin Northern, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Cory-Rawson will be playing in front of their home fans against Arcadia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Hornets are facing the Redskins at the right time seeing as the Redskins are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hardin Northern, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lima Senior at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
