The Winslow Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Show Low Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Winslow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Winslow proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 13) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past River Valley 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games in a row.

Kyah Wilcox was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylie Sharp, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Amatiel Gonzales was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Show Low entered their tilt with Holbrook on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Roadrunners with a sharp 19-3 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Winslow, Show Low also got a great game from a two-way player: Aspyn Clark. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Clark was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Show Low got a massive performance out of Ari Rivera, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Rivera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Clark, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Show Low hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matches.
Winslow pushed their record up to 17-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Show Low, their record is now 21-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Winslow hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Show Low struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Winslow came up short against Show Low when the teams last played back in March, falling 7-3. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
