Kenston Forest hasn't had much luck against Brunswick Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Kavaliers will square off against the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kenston Forest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Southampton Academy with a sharp 14-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Kavaliers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.
Aubrey Mayton (2026) was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Mayton (2026) was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Kenston Forest got a big performance out of Palyn Marker (2027), who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hayden Hudson (2029), who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Kenston Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Brunswick Academy waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 14-0 win.
Like Kenston Forest, Brunswick Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Olivia Ann Evans. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Evans was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Aubrey Lynn Corum was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kylie Reed Walker was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Kenston Forest pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Both Kenston Forest and Brunswick Academy just can't seem to miss. The Kavaliers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Brunswick Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kenston Forest might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Brunswick Academy when the teams last played on Thursday. Can the Kavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
