Softball Recap: Carrick's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Carrick dropped their record down to 5-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 10-1 to the Taylor Allderdice Dragons. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jayda Rose was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Rose is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

As for Taylor Allderdice, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games.

On Taylor Allderdice's side, Braelyn Altman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Altman was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karma Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracie Whitt, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Carrick beat Taylor Allderdice by a score of 4-3 on Friday.
