Football Recap: Fox Chapel Takes a Loss

Fox Chapel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 35-14 to the Shaler Area Titans. The Foxes were down 28-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Fox Chapel lost, don't look at Max Melocchi. Despite the final result, he picked up 70 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 46 yards and one score.

Fox Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Shaler Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Fox Chapel will square off against East Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Foxes will be up against the Wild Cats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Shaler Area, they will challenge Pine-Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
