Baseball Game Preview: Dominguez Dons vs. Norwalk Lancers

Dominguez is 0-5 against Norwalk since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Dons will be playing at home against the Lancers at 3:15 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Dominguez will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Lynwood, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Dons were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Knights on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Dons, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Angel Lopez tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Flores, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Daveon Brim, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Dominguez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Norwalk, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Paramount 7-1 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lancers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Norwalk pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dominguez, the win got them back to even at 7-7-1.
