Baseball Game Preview: Brownsboro Bears vs. Rusk Eagles

The Brownsboro Bears are taking a road trip to face off against the Rusk Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownsboro will be strutting in after a win while Rusk will be coming in after a defeat.

Brownsboro is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against West Rusk on Saturday. Brownsboro walked away with a 7-2 victory over West Rusk.

Alexis Sanchez looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He is becoming a predictor of Brownsboro's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Brownsboro's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Crosby, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Crosby a new career-high. Lincoln Burton also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Rusk fell 8-5 to Tatum.

Kade Blankenship was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases. Blankenship is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Jermicheal Sturns, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Brownsboro's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Rusk, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
