Basketball Recap: South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] can now relate to. They were dealt a 63-27 loss at the hands of the Eads Eagles on Friday. The Patriots' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sarah Elmore went 6-for-15 on her way to 17 points and three steals. Elmore's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

Eads was led to victory by Anna Wollert and Tailee Weeks-Johnson. Wollert shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds, while Weeks-Johnson went 8-for-13 to rack up 20 points and three steals. Wollert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Sierra, who posted eight points and five steals.

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Eads, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eads, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-26 victory against Genoa-Hugo/Karval on the 8th.
