Volleyball Recap: Blackfoot Takes a Loss

Blackfoot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Shelley Russets. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Russets from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 26-24, 28-26, 25-19.

Ashtyn Davis was the offensive standout of the match as she had 17 digs. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last six times she's played. Brooklyn Young also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Blackfoot's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Shelley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Blackfoot is set to face off against their familiar foe Idaho Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Shelley will challenge rival Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
