Softball Recap: Tranquillity Tigers vs. Avenal Buccaneers

Tranquillity had lost nine straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-20-1 to make it ten. They lost 23-9 to the Avenal Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-7 back in April.

As for Avenal, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games.

For Avenal's part, Emma Morales was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Morales was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2025.

Morales wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Trejo, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Trejo has posted since back in March. Another was Lupe Santillan, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Tranquillity nor Avenal have any future games scheduled.
