Basketball Game Preview: Nunamiut Amaguq vs. Fort Yukon Eagles

Nunamiut is 3-0 against Fort Yukon since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Both will face off at 7:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Nunamiut has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Nunamiut will head into Monday's match having proved themselves against Fort Yukon: Nunamiut took a 40-point loss the last time they faced off against Fort Yukon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Nunamiut had just enough and edged Fort Yukon out 70-67. The Amaguq's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Nunamiut found their leader in sophomore Kevin Gordon, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gordon has scored all season. Tyler Hugo was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Fort Yukon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Nunamiut, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.
