If West Babylon was riding high fresh off their 19-8 takedown of Centereach on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the East Islip Redmen by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

West Babylon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Outlaw, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Outlaw is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

West Babylon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for East Islip, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

While West Babylon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
