Softball Recap: Mexia Takes a Loss

Mexia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 13-2 to the Elkhart Elks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Elks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-1 back in March.

Mexia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Elkhart, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mexia will challenge rival Groesbeck at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Elkhart is set to take on their familiar foe Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Elks 4, the Eagles 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
