Football Recap: Westminster Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Westminster Christian Academy had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-6 to make it five. They took a blow against the Madison Academy Mustangs, falling 42-13. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 121st).

Westminster Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rj Bendolph, who rushed for 121 yards.

As for Madison Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-2. They haven't had any issues with Westminster Christian Academy recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Madison Academy found their leader in sophomore Charleston Owens, who rushed for 82 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 154 yards on 12 of 19 attempts.

Westminster Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madison Academy, they will challenge Hatton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
