Baseball Game Preview: Adelanto Saints vs. Victor Valley Jackrabbits

The Adelanto Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the Victor Valley Jackrabbits at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Adelanto came up short against Silverado and fell 8-5.

Meanwhile, Victor Valley entered their tilt with Granite Hills on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cougars a 10-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Jackrabbits have posted against the Cougars since April 17, 2023.

Tyler Aguilar tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Victor Valley is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Matthew Yepez was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Emilio Sbolci was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Victor Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Adelanto, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Adelanto took their win against Victor Valley in their previous meeting on April 2nd by a conclusive 11-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
