Basketball Recap: Miramar Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Miramar can now relate to. They fell 60-53 to the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Raiders are ranked third).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Thomas Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kellson (KJ) Sandi, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Wimbley Jr., who posted 11 points and eight boards.

Miramar's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 27-2.

As of now, neither Miramar nor St. Thomas Aquinas have any future games scheduled.
