Basketball Game Preview: Central Bronchos vs. Velma-Alma Comets

Central is 0-10 against Velma-Alma since February of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bronchos will venture away from home to square off against the Comets at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Rush Springs by a score of 46-39 two weeks ago. The Bronchos haven't had any issues with the Redskins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

While Velma-Alma didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed past Ringling to the tune of 81-37 on Friday. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Velma-Alma, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Central was taken down by Velma-Alma 52-21 in their previous matchup back in January of 2025. Can the Bronchos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
