Volleyball Recap: Madison Academy Takes a Loss

Madison Academy had to start their season on the road on Sunday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Georgia-Cumberland Academy Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bela Barbosa led the charge by getting seven kills and five digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Milly Crecelius, who had 15 assists and three digs.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's record now sits at 2-5.

Madison Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Georgia-Cumberland Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy on the 7th.
