Baseball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jamesville-DeWitt Red Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Maroons have suffered since May 16, 2024.

Auburn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Pinckney, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI.

Auburn now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Jamesville-DeWitt, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Auburn will take on rival Oswego at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Jamesville-DeWitt is set to square off against their familiar foe Central Square at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Red Rams' favor as the team sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Redhawks have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
