Baseball Game Preview: Newark Charter School Patriots vs. Delaware Military Academy Seahawks

Newark Charter School is 2-7 against Delaware Military Academy since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Newark Charter School is taking a road trip to square off against Delaware Military Academy at 4:00 p.m.

While Patriots fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They came out on top against Wilmington Charter by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday.

Newark Charter School got a great performance from Logan Matthews as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Doron Griffin was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Sean Luxton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Delaware Military Academy's season-opener two weeks ago wasn't quite what the team was looking for considering the end result. Neither they nor Smyrna could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 6-6 tie.

Newark Charter School might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Delaware Military Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Newark Charter School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
