Baseball Game Preview: Seneca Indians vs. De Soto Pirates

Seneca is on a ten-game streak of home wins, while De Soto is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Indians will host the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Seneca 3.7, De Soto 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Seven must be Seneca's lucky number: they beat Belmont with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Indians beat the Braves by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-2.

The team relied heavily on Gage Wall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Hagensick, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Seneca lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, De Soto had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Wauzeka-Steuben on Tuesday.

Seneca's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for De Soto, their victory bumped their record up to 23-3.
