Soccer Recap: Alameda Starts Season with Loss at Home

Alameda unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Sheridan Rams on Monday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Alameda of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The win got Sheridan back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alameda is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Denver West at 4:00 p.m. on September 4. As for Sheridan, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lake County at 11:00 a.m. on September 6.
